"Can't live if living is without you"
I remember loving that song years ago
Harry Nilsson sang it soulfully in the 70's
It is true: when you truly love someone...
You miss them when they are not with you
You miss the peace of their closeness
You miss their voice and those feelings
That one-ness that permeates to your soul
You feel lost without their company
Lost and alone as you go about each day
You feel like you are only half alive...
Only partly there: for a vital part is missing
A feeling that you cannot readily describe...

We know not the hour
Can you miss someone?
Without knowing why
Can you love someone?
Without hearing them cry?
Can you need someone?
Without spending the time
Can you hurt someone?
Without asking why
Why does love hurt?
Why does missing someone
hurt?
Why does hearing your love
cry, hurt?
Why does love hurt?
Ask Jesus our saviour...
He misses us in heaven
He hears us cry
He needs us as we need Him
He hurt for us and yet we
deny Him
Jesus took all our sins to that cross on Calvary
He did it to save us that
terrible cost
Jesus is saddened that we
forget
Everything He has already
done for us
Still we take our time...
We wander away from Him
We ignore His pleas for us
to come unto Him
We think we have plenty of
time...
But we know not the time
When it will be too
late...
We know not the hour of
His soon coming
We waste our time in
frivolity
We forget all of His
promises
We procrastinate and
dawdle along
"Please" He begs of us
"Turn away from your
sins
Repent and be saved"
Can you hear Him crying?
Can you understand His
pain?
Has He not paid your price
dear?
Please let it all not have
been done in vain...
Lonely is the world
Without love: lonely is the world
Without peace: angry is the world
Without light: darkness rules the world
Without forgiveness: revenge fills the world
Without understanding: wars ravage the world
Without foresight: waste overcomes the world
Without Jesus: lost is the world...
Jesus came to show us God's love
Jesus came to bring peace into a warring world
Jesus is the light of this world: our beacon
Jesus brought God's forgiveness for our sins
Jesus understands our pain: he went through it
Jesus sees our past and our future yet he loves us
Jesus saved us when we didn't deserve saving
Yes it's true...lonely is a world without love...
Without peace: angry is the world
Without light: darkness rules the world
Without forgiveness: revenge fills the world
Without understanding: wars ravage the world
Without foresight: waste overcomes the world
Without Jesus: lost is the world...
Jesus came to show us God's love
Jesus came to bring peace into a warring world
Jesus is the light of this world: our beacon
Jesus brought God's forgiveness for our sins
Jesus understands our pain: he went through it
Jesus sees our past and our future yet he loves us
Jesus saved us when we didn't deserve saving
Yes it's true...lonely is a world without love...

Two coins for the ferryman
Two coins for the boatman
Two coins upon his blessed eyes
Payment for Charon the ferryman
To take him to Hades when he died
Achilles killed Hector in single combat
Just as Hector had taken his cousin's life
Patroclus taken way too young it's true
That's what a loving cousin had to do
Many deaths in war time: for what purpose?
So many thousands over as many years
When will it all end: how many more tears?
Why must we still pay the piper?
Why cannot we strive for peace?
Ah dear Lord this world is filled with sadness
Ever will man live to rue his days...
When wars take precedence over peacetime
When lust and greed overcomes all sense...
Two coins upon his blessed eyes
Payment for Charon the ferryman
To take him to Hades when he died

Search my heart
Search my heart my darling
What will you find in there?
Will you find what you are seeking?
Do think that I really care?
Though I was afraid to love you
Though I was terrified it's true
Now I am ready to find my salvation
I am ready to start anew with you
I have searched my own heart darling
I have sought to find my peace too
Though time and distance keep us
Stranded, apart: it is only a matter of time
Until I finally get to find eternity with you!
What will you find in there?
Will you find what you are seeking?
Do think that I really care?
Though I was afraid to love you
Though I was terrified it's true
Now I am ready to find my salvation
I am ready to start anew with you
I have searched my own heart darling
I have sought to find my peace too

Stranded, apart: it is only a matter of time
Until I finally get to find eternity with you!

Sleeping babies
Imagine the difficult times last century
Way back in the early years of the 1900's
A lifetime ago: who is left to remember?
All those have who departed long ago...
Poor mother sadly peering...
At her three little children: ill...
Lying so still upon their little beds...
They looked so serene: like angels
Sleeping babies: so pure and sweet
Too late they realised...
Too late to say more prayers...
Her three little angels...
Had already gone to God...
Her three little angels...
Gone from their mother's arms
Only Jesus now would keep them...
For eternity in His loving arms...
Tim's grandmother lost her three youngest
Alice aged 3, another 18 months
And baby George aged 8 months
While she was already pregnant...
With his mother Evelyn...
During terrible times in 1916
There are differing accounts
As to the illness that took her babies
Diptheria, Scarlet Fever...
Or maybe even the Spanish Flu
That was raging across the continent...

The nature of rain
The tears from heaven were falling
Huge rain drops kept tumbling down
The sound they made upon the roof: scary
My little grand daughter was suddenly afraid
Inside her home she never heard them
Well insulated, protected and unafraid...
It was only here in my humble abode
That she was truly frightened: crying
The sound was something...
Of which to be dismayed
Though we picked her up and cuddled
Though we tried to ease her fears...
To a little child: how do you explain it?
How to express that nature is so made...
