Stuck in the car

Stuck in the car again
Three kids reined in
Nothing much to do but
Climb all over everything
Wind the windows down Nana
Let us hang out and about
We will push all the buttons
Turn on absolutely everything
As we scream and shout
We will push your buttons too Nana
Oh yes indeed we will...
No doubt about it as 3 kids begin to yell
Get off me...stop doing that...
Leave me alone.... Oh it's a little hell
Mummy's in the shop now
Far away from us all
Lucky mummy is oblivious
She cannot hear a sound
But soon she will reappear
And release me from this hell

Under the sea I feel free

Took a swim under the sea
Chased some fish: felt so free
Saw a ray swim away from me
Dark and weird it was you see
No stinger: just a ray: I say
It seemed to fly so gracefully...
Tiny little baby fish there were
Hundreds and thousands actually
Tiny little schools everywhere
Among the rocks close to the beach
In the shallows just out of reach
Saw a catfIsh wallowing too
Thought it looked so slow: you know
I reached out to touch it with my fingertips
Felt it's slimy skin: let it swim: let it win
We both reacted: both were shocked
Struggled to escape each other's view
Lime green seaweed swaying to and fro
Looked like fairy floss from the royal show
Touched it as I swam above you see
It looked soft and fluffy: but was harder
It seemed strange to me: so green and free
Huge boulders: giant rocks everywhere
Tossed and tumbled: covered up with moss
Sea greens and browns: delicately
Waving: gesticulating: beckoning to me
Come and look: come and see: here we be
Waves of motion: gently soothing
Water lapping round my head
Each breath I take: in and out
There are no other sounds
This is all that is surrounding me
Peace returns: peace my goal you know
The same course I seek to take each day
As I come to meet up with the sea
Allow it to gently engulf around me
Ah I am so at home here...
I am so blessed as I float peacefully
Allowing the currents to lift me up
To gently move me up and down
Back and forth: to and fro: gently lulling me
I feel as if within a lover's arms
Caressed by the gently moving sea
Ah dear Lord in heaven up above
I feel blessed: surrounded by your love...

Addiction

All my life I have watched
Others with their addictions
Formed my opinions...
Went upon my way
Though I watched: commiserated
Felt their struggles: their pain
Knowing full well I couldn't help them
Be over comers: was estranged...
Heard smokers coughing
Watched others lives
Going down the drain...
In seeing: beholding: understanding
I thought I could avoid it: abstain
But in hindsight I am condemned
To seeing no advancement
For in my observations I was mistaken
Witnessing others predilections
Never realising I had my own...
Addictions: my afflictions: my pain
My scars are on the inside...
Never seeing the light of day...
"Tis only now that I can face these
Terrible addictions...
These fears that I cannot contain
I need to find my freedom: need liberating
I need to unlock these heavy chains
Need to jettison this extra baggage
For I need to move forward
Need to make some major changes
I cannot stay here any longer
I must be able to escape this pain...
At these crossroads I am waiting
Ready to choose a new direction
Where there is only positive thinking
Only good thoughts to entertain...

My heart clock

My heart is a clock: ticking out its simple tune
Rhythmic; symbolic: can you sense the doom?
Each heart beat is a little tick: each second
Another life is gone: perhaps way too soon
Tick tock goes my heart clock: it never stops
The maker made it precious: made it very strong
He made it tick each second: all my whole life long
It ticks when I am sleeping: it tocks while I am awake...
I never stops its beating no matter the path I take
Before I was even born I heard it going: yes it’s true
In my mother's womb it was beating out its fierce tattoo
Each time I stood and waited: each time I sighed anon
My heart it was a beating out that simple rhythmic tune...
It beat faster when I was in love...it pounded in my ears
Again it beat even faster: when I was facing all my fears
That steady thumping is my companion: it goes on and on
Never will it cease as long as it beats strong...
My maker wound it tightly: wound it to go on and on
Yes he made this my little heart to go on beating
Each and every single day that I am meant to belong
Here upon this earthly plane: until he comes to claim me
Then will it cease its labours: cease to perform its beat
Then will I surrender to my maker: give up the ghost to him
For when he leads me yonder: then will it cease its labours
And I will be ready to embrace my maker: as He takes me home

The Crying game

Great sobs tore through my body
Tears fell and would not cease
I felt I was so wretched as
I sought to find my release...
Ah Lord I am so burdened
Ah Lord I am dismayed
Though I have sought redemption
I feel sad that I have faltered
I feel ashamed and ill at ease
I have been lost beside the wayside
I have slipped down into that deep, dark well
Please lift me up my saviour
Please guide me: never let me go
Without you I am lost forever
Without you I am condemned to my hell

Have you known my sorrows

Have you known my sorrows?
Have you cried my tears?
When you have walked my highways
Then will you understand my fears...
Nobody else can feel my pain
No one can live inside this shell
Think you to judge my lifetime
Could you truly understand my hell?
If you seek to understand me
If you seek to look inside my heart
Please step gently as you enter
Please tiptoe around and then
When you have witnessed all my sorrows
Then felt this pain within my heart
Then: maybe then: you would reconsider
And accept that living life is an art...
I have been lost beside the highway
I have stumbled: I have fallen: true
Gotten up and crawled a while
But each time I cried out my anguish
Each time I suffered and sighed
I know there was another
Who felt everything that I had done
He lifted me when I was fallen
He carried me when I could not move
He loved me even when I could not
He showed me that I was forgiven
By taking up my heavy cross...

Ah Lord I am still crying...
Ah Lord I suffer for your pain
You came to save me from myself
You took up all of my burdens
You my dearest took all my blame
Thank you my sweetest Saviour
Thank you for giving up your life
I know that no other loves me
No other could understand my pain
Only my precious Saviour
Could see inside my very heart
And knowing all I suffer...
Could honestly say to me
"I know all that you suffered
I know all that you have borne
Come unto me my daughter

For you I offered up my son..."

Infatuation

What is limerence?
What is infatuated love?
It is that state of mind...
That romantic attraction
To another person...
That results in
Obsessive thoughts and fantasies
A desire to form or maintain
A relationship with the object of love
And to have those feelings
Reciprocated...

A typical feeling we all have
At some time in our lives
That crazy feeling that takes us
To dizzying heights...
And can leave us sighing
Gasping for breath...
Heart pounding within our breast
Face flushed from yearning
That burning desire: uncontrollable
Unrequited love: painful
Yet so real; unfathomable
Unexplainable to our heads
But felt in our hearts

I felt this as teenager...
And many years later on as well
We are not immune...
For we all seek to find this love
This belonging...
Human desire is faulty
It can be so one sided
We want so badly that we obsess

But if you love something
You have to let it go
If it comes back it is yours...
For love must be returned
To be counted as true love...
