Life is a graph

If your life was a graph

How would you plot it?

All the ups and down...

All the peaks and valleys...

All the high and lows...

For God only knows it's true

That is exactly how life is

For me and for you

To appreciate the highs

You need to feel the lows

To enjoy the ups 

You must see the downs

That is how life goes

There is no flat...plateau

It is filled with good times

Interspersed with the bad

Some are happy times

Some are sad...

But generally

You will have to agree

That life is like a roller coaster ride

The screaming happens 

As you travel along...

The laughter...the tears...

All have their seasons...

All have their place...

In this merry-go-round

That is life for the human race...

Embrace life

 Happy people embrace life

It's true: yes they do...

They accept life's ups and downs

They take it on the chin

They never give up...never give in...

They know that life does not go 

In a straight line...don't you know?

They understand the process

Of living with a different focus

Of seeing everything a different way

That's because they learn from their mistakes

They realise that life is what you make it

They don't have to go along and fake it

They simply get on with it...

Knowing that for very pit fall

There is a way to get over it

For every down side there is an upside

They take life in little pieces

In little bites...one mouthful at a time

"How do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time"

Rome wasn't built in a day

That's what they all say...

But what does it mean?

It means you take things slowly...

You do a bit each and every day...

One step at a time...

One day at a time...

If you tried to carry everything you needed

To live your life for the next ten years

You would collapse...fall in a heap...

It's too big a burden to bear...

Even in the Bible it says...

"Let today's troubles be enough for the day

Let tomorrow's troubles take care of themselves"

In other words...what is the use in worrying?

About tomorrow...you cannot do anything about it

You only load yourself with more stress...

So...embrace today and everything it brings...

Let tomorrow take care of itself...

It will be here soon enough!

The wedding ring

 What purpose does a wedding ring serve?

Is it merely a symbol to be worn?

Is it just a piece of jewellery to adorn?

Our already over-loaded fingers

Is there some purpose, some warning?

Cried out into life's yawning...chasm...

Does it say: "I am married, stay away?"

Does it tell you that I am no longer free?

Does it decry some other status?

Some symbol to explain all about us?

Is it necessary to so boldly display it?

Is it there to tell the world of our choice?

Of our decision to embark upon a joining

Together of everything that we were

To create a new estate...a new company

A new, better life for you and me

Is it absolutely necessary?

Can one simply act a different way?

Can we simply show by behaviour?

By thoughts...by words and actions

That we are changed...

That we have chosen to be....

Different...from what we used to be...

It is supposed to be the symbol

Of a decided unity, a secure state

Of matrimony...upholding God's laws

Showing the beauty of God's plans

For the human race

Begun in antiquity...

The widow's list

Life is what you make of it

Life is exactly that...

You get to choose the paths ahead

You have to choose for yourself...

It is nobody else's choice but yours!

Do you look at the widow's list?

Or do you get stuck upon...

The much shorter one...

The wife's list...

Those few things that grate and grind...

Always at the back of your mind

The things that annoy you every day...

Simply because you choose to live that way

Do you see only the downs in life?

Are you ever that unhappy wife?

What happens when time is gone?

You are left all on your own...

Do you suddenly see the other list?

The one that you made when time began

The one that you decided to use back then...

When first you wanted to welcome in

A new married life, together for all your life

Those beautiful things you needed to expound

To your mum and dad...all those things

That made him the one for you...

The good things that mattered then...

Ah it is so sad that we forget...

About that precious list we made

When time was yet on our side...

When we were young at heart

Young in mind: ready to become

Husband and newly wedded wife...

How life works

Attended an educational evening out
Our group went together to check it out
"How life Works" it was called
All about being happy...
All about life's perks and quirks...
Had to laugh...it was funny...
We definitely need a sense of humour
Well that's the life-long rumour...
Got to take life with a pinch of salt
Got to see the big picture over all
It's all about the way we look at things
We can see the doom and gloom
Or we can see the lighter side...
It's up to you to decide...

Eden Valley lookout

It's 4:44 pm on a beautiful Sabbath day
Here I sit atop a hill overlooking Eden Valley
Nature is all around me: I am at peace
For I know also that angels surround me 
As I overlook the blessed scenery...I know
That God made it all for us to enjoy on...
This peaceful, blessed Sabbath, day of rest
There are sheep in the valley below...
Cows lowing, magpies searching for a feed
Crows cawing...not even a breeze...
The sun is shining through filmy clouds
I feel blessed to be able to survey all this...
For to me it is pure and absolute bliss...

That we have to live
This day is the day

That we must believe

That Jesus came to save
This day is the day
Of our salvation
If we only believe on Him
