The voice of love

The voice of love is calling
Do you hear that chime?
Do bells ring when you hear her?
Have you got the time?
To realty listen
Do you recognise her voice?
Does love sound different?
Is there something strange?
Does it matter where she comes from?
Have you ever felt that change?
Love comes in many forms
Love truly bears no ill will
So do you know when love is calling?
Have you heard her precious voice?
It is simple to explain it
Accept her call; it is your choice

When I'm Down

Please don't kick me
When I'm down
Please don't hate me
When I frown
Please lift me
Up instead
Please place a kiss
Upon my tired head
When I am tested
When I am tried
That's when I need
My blessed guide to find
Pray for me
At this time...
Prayers reach up
Into the heavens
Angel messengers
Intercept our thoughts
Fly them heavenward
Return to us again
With God's love
Ah My Lord
I need your love

Home

They say
"home is where the heart is"
Making it a home
Is where the art is
Not just a house
But a haven
A place of rest
Of peace and love
The blessings above all
Come when you can
Actually call
Those 4 walls
A home...

On this day

On this day
The sky fell down
On this day
You left your family
On this day
The earth stood still
On this day
Great calamity
On this day
We cried our tears
On this day
We miss you again
On this day
It's been 2 years
On this day
We grieve for you
On this day
We think of you

My mirror

You're my mirror
You're my muse
You make me happy
No longer hurting
No longer bruised

December in June

You want to grow up too soon
You want your December in June
You cannot wait to get ahead
Yet one day you'll regret that too

At 8 you wanted to be sweet 16
Then when that's what you'd become
You raced ahead again too soon
Yes; you want your December in June

Days flew by; became long years
You married young; had children too
A house became your loving home
Yet you wanted your December in June

They've all grown up and left the nest
You're glad they've done so well and yet
Some days you wish they'd never left
Now you regret that December isn't June

Flawed

I was 15 years old
This gift I received
It was beautiful but
In myself I never believed
In my own eyes
I could never ever see
Any worth in me
Here is my quandary...
A perfect pearl
Surrounded by filigree
One side, perfect
The other spoiled...
You may well ask
Why, do I see myself in thee?
It is a simple fact of life
We only ever see our flaws
We only see the side
We choose to see
Only others looking in
Can see both sides
Can be unprejudiced
Because
from their vantage point
They can see
Both the good and the bad
And in choosing to remain
Our faithful friend
Will stay with us till the end
Knowing full well
That inner beauty will shine through
Just as this pearl shines
Just as it is the centrepiece
Like our heart is
Held within our perfect imperfection...
