Simon Says

Dear Simon gave the sermon the other day 
It was a truly beautiful Sabbath day 
I went to listen to someone preach 
It was Simon's turn to stand up 
To give us all our lesson for the day 
The best part was when Simon prayed 
His message was so heartfelt 
So personal: right to this very day 
Simon quoted 1 John in the Holy Bible 
The message was all about 
God's love for us all 
It told of God's blessings for us 
Should we listen to His call? 
Love your neighbour as your self
Love God and hear His words 
Love one another 
Let this be your first commandment 
Simon says: Love rules 
Simon says: Love is the key 
Simon says: Love your neighbour 
Simon says: God said: do this for me!
