If love is passionate
(Attachment is apathetic)

I know I love you because
Passion stirs within my heart...
You are all that I need
You make me feel alive 

If love is selflessness
(Attachment is self centred)

I know I love you because
I am willing to give all that I am
To show you that I care
You make me feel loved

If love is freedom
(Attachment is possession)

I know I love you because
I am freed from all pretense
You accept me as I truly am
I am free to be myself

If being in love empowers each other...
(Attachment takes sides)

I know I love you because
Together we are growing 
Together we encourage each other
To be the best we can be

If love has no time limits
(Attachment is limited)

I know I love you because
I am able to trust in you 
We do not need to hurry
We have all the time in the world
