Couldn’t face the pain
Her tears fell upon her
beautiful face
She had had enough
No more of his torment would
she face
His unfair torture was too
much!
She would end her
pain-filled life!
She thought she could leave
behind
All that had been her life
but
Her four precious children’s
faces
Flashed before her eyes;
kept her there
Unable to jump and die
The dear Lord was there with
her that night
Showing her; there was so
much more to give
The angels held her back; kept
her safe
Until a man would come to
take her to safety
They knew that she could not
leave
Her children loved her so!
They needed their mother
To love and protect them
She was all that stood
between
Them and their old
grandmother!
She was all that was good
She was all that was
beautiful
Grand mama was cold and hard
She loved no-one; had lost
her love
The orphanage had stolen her
soul
Those poor children would
suffer
If she were to hold the
reins
