Our first date was a double date

With your two best friends!

Ian and Kathy were your best friends

You did almost everything together!

I felt so isolated; from the very start

I felt left out of the group

I didn’t smoke; while you three did

I guess I was a bit jealous sometimes

‘Cause you already had a history together

I was the odd one out!
We were good together when we were alone

It was the best; just the two of us doing our thing!

Our first date was at Don Giovanni’s

Down the East End of Rundle Street

You all had Lasagne; I had spaghetti

I guess I wasn’t much of a meat eater

Even way back then in August 1977!
