Wings unfurled

For years I’ve been trying to fly

Trying to rise above this life of mine

Unsuccessfully; unhappily!

Now I see that all I needed

Was a little push

A little encouragement

A bit of momentum

To get me off the ground and

Up into that glorious sky!

Even in my dreams

I was always trying to rise

Up above the others chasing

Behind me, snapping at my heels

Now I can fly! Now it is so easy!

I just let go of all my troubles and

Let the dear angels come to my aid

They have allowed me to

Unfurl my wings and fly

Up into that glorious sky

Up where I feel so much closer

To my dearest Lord and Saviour

My Father in heaven

I love you so!
