So many
people living in fear
So many
people crying their tears
Wondering if
they will last the year
Wondering if
they will escape their curse
If dad died
at 48: will he live longer?
The worry
lines his face: can he really escape?
He ponders!
The stress
and strain of worrying
Leaves its
marks: no denying it
This fear we
live with never seems to fade
We’re living
in the shadow of our parent’s lives
Of our
ancestors’ deeds: these fears
These things
on which stress feeds
Until we look
so much alike
Until we
imitate their very lives
We take on
their traits and faint
We become
exactly that which we seek to escape!
