Spring in the Barossa Valley

Spring time releases so much movement in the bush
Snakes awaken to their hunger; grumpy beyond belief
Stumpy tails and lizards of all shapes; sunning on the roads
Magpies, Crows and Eagles sit upon their nests
Roses bloom at the ends of the valley’s long rows of vines
Everything is green and lush; so many different hues
Such a riot of colours; so many flowers in bud and bloom
Everywhere is movement; everywhere is sunshine
Everywhere is life growing up sure and strong
The valley comes alive after months of dreary days
The sun’s come out; but winds still come
Spring is the “In-between”
Not steaming hot yet; just a taste of what’s to come!
So we struggle on; we put on our layers and take them off
We wonder what’s to come in the next few days and weeks
As we glory in the sun’s bright rays in between the cloudy gusts
Then we snuggle up as the rain falls down
The snow upon our hills; the frosty mornings
Come to us in fits and starts; the weather can’t decide
So we just take it as it comes and glory in our lives!
