Just kidding

My kids are always telling me

“Mum, please: don’t tell any jokes!”

I am utterly hopeless!

It’s true you know!

I cannot tell a lie!

Jokes and I don’t mix!

I am always stuffing them up!

But you have to laugh at yourself

Don’t take life too seriously!

It really doesn’t matter!

There are more important things!

There are more important gifts!

So I just get on with my life!

Knowing full well that life goes on

No matter how we do things

No matter how bad we are: at some things

At others we excel!

In other things we succeed!

We can’t possibly be good at everything!
