Blessings of Deuteronomy 28

 "And it shall come to pass

If thou shalt hearken diligently 

Unto the voice of thy God

To observe and to do all 

Of His commandments

Which I command thee this day...

That the Lord thy God will set thee

On high above all nations on earth..."

Deuteronomy 28:1

"And all these blessings shall come on thee

And overtake thee...

If thou shalt hearken 

Unto the voice of the Lord thy God"

Deuteronomy 28:2

The big "IF"

If we listen to His voice

If we do as He requests?

If we follow His rules

If we obey His commandments

Sounds so simple doesn't it?

IF

We will receive many blessings...

We will be set above all nations on earth...

Why can't we simply obey Him who made us?

What difficulty is there in this simple instruction?

What is wrong with us that we will not choose?

To obey our Lord and maker

There are so many distractions...

So many things we would rather do...

Tempted by Satan as we are...

Just as Eve was...

We would rather believe the evil one...

Because he twists and turns it all around

To make it seem the better choice...

Adam and Eve were expelled 

From the Garden of Eden

Because they were tricked by Satan

Will we choose life eternal over death?

Simply because it seems too difficult

Simply because it seems the easier path

God help us all if we choose unwisely...
