Stream of Grace

The tale is told of Robert the Bruce
In 14th century Scotland and how he
Escaped his English captors as
He and his men were being chased through the forest
His own bloodhounds were being used to track him
His men had almost given up
As they heard those hounds; baying for their blood
When Robert the Bruce jumped into the stream
And waded upstream: along that blessed stream
His scent was washed away; no longer in danger
From those baying hounds; though urged on and on
They could not follow; could no longer find his trail
He and his men were saved; escaped that fate
He was later crowned King of Scotland!

Thus it is today; in our lives
Satan thinks to set those sin hounds loose upon us
Baying for our blood; keeping our sins before us
Never to let us forget them
But we are saved; we are forgiven
Our dear Lord Jesus has saved us all!
His precious blood; is that Stream of Grace
We are saved; cleansed anew
Because Jesus washed us clean
With His precious blood; on Calvary!
