Jesus took our sins upon His breast
Saved us, sinners, we are blessed
He came from heaven: to take: in divinity
His place upon that cross on Calvary
He became a man just like me and you
To show: to prove: to save us too
Without His blessed love and sacrifice
We'd all be lost: but His gift sufficed
To pay our cost for all eternity
That when he came: a heavenly entity
This He promised: this we gained
That where He went we too would be raised
So now: in the Most Holy Place
He entreats His Father in our place
For did not God proclaim to us: sin diseased
"This is my Son: in Him am I well pleased!"
That though He suffered, though He fell
We, sinners would be spared that awful hell...
