Reflections in my busy mind

I can see yesterday once more

I feel it in my bones

I know it in my heart

I just go right back

To that distant past

I recall so many bits and pieces

Some flashes: bright like

A camera’s flash

Others as little coloured pictures

Along a darkened wall

Some things are black and white

Others in a sepia tone

All things are a wonderful part

Of this blessed life of mine

All I need to do is appreciate

That I am unique

There is no-one else

Quite like me!

We are all individuals

In this huge world of ours

And yet we are like microbes

Viewed from dear God’s eyes

Tiny little bits of things

Created by our dearest Lord

In the blink of His eye!

Dream tomorrow

For tomorrow I may dream

Of living by endless streams

Up in that heavenly realm

Where the lion and the lamb

Lie down together in eternal peace

Here I would be with my dearest Lord

Here I would glow with His love

Hear the angels singing

As they hover: winging

Around blessed New Jerusalem

Live for Today

I live for today

This moment in time

Is what is truly sublime!

Each precious moment

Will be my memory

Up there in eternity

When Jesus comes again!

I must be ready then

To show how much His love

Has filled this heart of mine

This day: is what counts

Tomorrow is too late!

I live for today and

Make every second count!
