We took the long way
Took most of the day
Travelling the open roads
Talking a lot
Releasing our loads
Of stress and worry
Heart to heart
Opening up our souls
Letting out all the hurts
Both new and old
So many things
Needed to be said
So much we'd held in
But now as it spewed forth
It was like a renewal
A new birth
It had to happen

For we're not just
Mother and daughter
We are best friends too
