Laughing gruncle

Haven’t seen him laughing

For such a long, long time

Haven’t seen him smiling

Yes it’s been quite a while

The pain that wrecks his days

Intrudes into his every night

The Diabetes also tires him

And so we called him "gruncle"

Not just because he’s a “great uncle”

But for “Grumpy uncle” too

But today I saw him laughing

Yes today I saw him smile

It was good to see this

Even if it was only for a little while!
