Summer fun at Berri

The boys are awake already
Running around the house
Their footfalls echoing
Upon the wooden floorboards
Their laughter too is bouncing
Around these walls to me
Yeah it's good to be alive this day
As I wake up and hear their joy
But already they want to go outside
To meet their friends
To make their bubbles
In the slightest breeze
But the heat is intensifying
Already it is deadly: not fun
Even though it is barely 10 am
It's oppressive out there
In that overpowering sun
It is invasive to say the least
Well: here in Australia
This is the nature of the beast!
This heat is amazing
It permeates all around
Nothing can escape it
The very air is alive with heat
It burns your lungs as you breathe it
It burns your skin if you even dare
To go outside without your shirt on
For here the ozone layer is
Non-existent
Here the ozone layer is deceased!
