Racing along the back roads

I was travelling along the back roads
I had such a long, long way to go
Time was passing quickly: night was coming on
I knew I had to hurry: I knew it was urgent
There was something that I simply had to do
Though to be honest: right then: I could not tell you...
As I raced along those empty back roads
I was thankful that the traffic was infrequent
Thankful that the cars, trucks were few and far between
And as I neared my destination: along the River Murray
I was feeling so very blessed to be arriving safely too
I crossed over on the ferry: the sun had just gone down
I was at my destination: I called in to that little church
There, I arrived just as Pastor David was leaving
I explained the situation: told him true: please help
My friend is in dire straits: she needs your counsel
Please come and visit: please we need your prayers
I am relying upon you: he would help me I knew...
