Sorting through old papers
Found a heap of old receipts
From World Vision: yes
We used to sponsor children
Across the other side of the world
Hoping to make their simple lives
Just a little easier: it's true
I remember a young girl in Thailand
Thongbai was her name... 
But her family moved away
Never did find out what happened in her world
Later we cared for a young boy 
He lived in the Dominican Republic
His name was Enger Elias Cruz Miranda
He was only about 5 years old
That was from October 1996 to 1998
Then we sponsored a boy from Guatemala
Juan Pablo Vasquez Perez he was called
We helped his family from October 1998 to 2000
I still have the letters that were written
The drawings done by their little hands
A simple reminder to let us know
Just how easy it is to be kind...

So spread a little kindness
Help out where you can
What may seem very little to us
May make all the difference to them

I found a printed certificate 
Thanking us for our kindness
Thanking us for helping out
I never realised how long we assisted
But the certificate expressed 
Their appreciation: for our help
For 12 long years it said!
