The games people play

Sometimes I am simply amazed
At the games people decide to play
Setting up one against the other
Wasting the entire time of the day
Instead of love and kindness
There is strife and hatred every day
Years ago there was some trouble
A grown woman decided to make up
Some nastiness and fling it our way
Threatening my daughter and her friend
She took out a restraining order
Thought to cause a lot of strife
Until I decided to join in the game
That she had decided to play
We replied in the same crazy way
Filed a restraining order against her too
Then hers was removed: thank God
And finally all was back to normal! At last!
