The Look of the Year Quest 2

Both my girls wanted to try modelling
So we agreed to pay the price
Of a modelling course in deportment
Manners, make-up: and all the things
Young ladies ought to learn about
At Rachel's Model management
I found the receipts just the other day
The first for 450 dollars in July of 1999
Another 500 dollars in August of 1999
Both Vanessa and Shelley had so much fun
Met new friends and really had a ball
Especially when they got to show off
Everything that they had learned
There was a lovely night in town
In the fair city of Adelaide: at St Paul's
An old church building on Pulteney  Street
They had a runway set up in the hall
They practised for their amazing debut
They strolled and strutted their stuff
While we sat entranced with wonder
At the way they had changed in months
From shy little wall flowers they were
We saw the confidence they gained
With learning just a few simple things
To boost their self image in their teens...
So when the Look of the Year Quest came along
They were eager to try the photo shoot
Eager to make a little more effort to boot...
In the year 2000, Vanessa entered first
Heat 5 on the 20th August of 2000
Gained a place into the grand final
Held on the 26th of November 2000
Shelley entered the Junior section
Her heat was on the 10th February of 2002
The grand final was on 12th May 2002
Two of their uncles sponsored them 
In that competition: thanks guys for your help
They had lots of fun but realised
That getting into the modelling game
Was definitely not for them...
