Buried Treasure

Had a dig the other week
Found some buried treasure!
Santiago, Zecarias and I
Were having a little walk outside
Found some things among the grass
Bright red Lego pot and a couple of horses!
Not such exciting stuff you might say
But to me it was buried treasure!
Just over 18 months ago
We had a massive flood
Though we lost a lot of stuff
We were alive and so were our pets
But what was lost still remains; in my memories!
All those precious toys I'd thought to save
For my grandchildren!
All those memories are here inside my head
Pictures of when my kids were young
Building Lego houses
These things do remain; fleeting; precious
Of years gone by; playing; laughing!
