It was so hot that day
We were celebrating
At the River Murray
My cousins all came
To have a BBQ
Down by that cooling river!
Two of my cousins were engaged
Both of them to Julies!
I recall my request back then
Was for a beauty case
And boy was I surprised
To get two of them!
I guess I never expected
To be so blessed
As I thought no one would
Buy me anything I really wanted!
My parents got me clothes
My Aunties too: I suppose
So I was thankful to have
Something I really and
Truly desired!
