The furrows

I loved living on our property
In the rural country side
I loved the freedom and the peace!
My parents had 21 acres
3 acres of Sultana vines
The rest was empty so
We planted tomatoes
It was a family affair
My uncle and cousins would help
My friend Martha and her parents too!
All of us bent over planting
Those young tomato plants
Into that wet ground
It was back-breaking work but
As the saying goes:
Many hands make light work!
We helped each other out!
Martha's mum and dad planted tomatoes
On their property as well!
Down by the lagoon
I remember it well!
My uncle and aunt did too!
They had a place next to Martha's parents
Right on top a huge hill
Opposite my other uncle and aunt's place
We all grew tomatoes!
