Took a walk on the wild side
Of Petrel Cove beside the sea
Enjoyed the sunshine bright
My precious love beside me
Clambered over amazing rocks
Breathed in the freshest breeze
Explored many tiny tidal pools
Everything in my mind; a frieze
Learning life in nature's schools
Ready to be deployed to memory
Peace, love, joy enveloped me
As we enjoyed the glorious scenery
Pigeons roosted high above us
Startled as we clambered near
White crashing waves before us
Spraying us as we ventured there
Black volcanic basalt dragons
Reared up above pink granite eggs
Sinking in soft sands wet by the sea
On this gorgeous Australia Day 2017...
