Last time they saw grandpa

Two years ago we all travelled
Along those long, winding roads
My darling daughter and grandchildren
Set out; carrying emotional loads
The last time they would see him
Their great grandpa; getting old
They were off on their adventure
Far across the oceans deep; cold

I too would miss them sorely
I too would shed my salty tears
As I watched for one last time
As they hugged and kissed him
Held his precious hands; heart; close
This one last time they would hold him
Cuddle him; laugh with him; tell him
Just how much he would be missed...
