Bool Lagoon Wetlands

Bool Lagoon Wetlands
Hardly a drop of water to be seen
Yet I enjoyed the viewing
Still it was beautiful to me
Far away in the distance
Twinkling bravely in the sun
There were many birds and water
But it was so far away hun
What drew me were the sounds
The whispering of those reeds
A susurrus of startling intensity
Such beauty to my listening ears
Drought may have stolen her moisture
Made her surrender up her sights
You could be forgiven for doubting
Forgiven for turning away in fright
But just return after next winter
Come again when spring is near
You will be amazed at her teeming bird life
You will hear s myriad of green frogs
Incessant in their loud croaking
As they regenerate from these bogs
A veritable cacophony of life
Here in the Bool Lagoon Wetlands
Here; where today there is such strife
