Summer is officially over
Yet the heat is stifling still
Hot, hot days; they linger
Nowhere do I feel a chill
The swimming pool was full today
So many people cooling off
Big and small they all came
To have their dip and wet their heads
Took my grandsons swimming
We had a good time there
The pools were cool and welcoming
After all this heat from hell!
