When I got married in 1979
I wanted something different
No boiled fruit cake for me!
I asked my mum to bake for me
A cake from Hungary!
A Magyar cake with almonds
My favourite thing to eat!
So mum made my Zserbo cake
White icing instead of chocolate
Two hearts in blue; ribbon bound
Layers of biscuit and
In between the apricot jam
With ground almonds!
Thank you my dearest mum!
