Saw a mighty dragon looking down
Its huge eye as pale as moonlight
Dark clouds circling its head but
I could still sense its fear and
Still understand its dread!
Last year was the year of the dragon!
That's when I saw the dragon's head!
This year is the water snake
No massive serpent have I seen
No clouds of danger to be gleaned
I only saw a giant locust
Coming over the Adelaide hills
In that mighty dragon's wake
Perhaps that's enough
For all our sakes!
