My name is Suzie and I do love
To collect sea shells down on
The beautiful sea shore
I loved to wander on the beach
When we lived at Largs North
Way back in 1984/1985
I was pregnant with my first child
Happily so after many years of wanting
Like I said to my husband Tim
If we waited for him to be ready to be a dad
We'd still be waiting!
I was so happy to go for little walks
Along the beach at Largs North
Listening to the gentle waves
Was so relaxing and so refreshing
I watched for sea shells as I walked
Picked up many pretty ones for my collection
Especially after a storm!
The stormy weather would dump
Many beautiful shells above the water line
I found baby abalone, olive shells, shiny nacre
So many precious shells to take home!
Many years later I told my Brother-in-law
Richard that I'd love to frame them somehow
I wasn't sure how to do it
He said he'd help and
He made me a beautiful shell table
The girls all helped to place the shells
Onto the quickly setting putty
Then he covered them all with a glass top
My beautiful shell table
Filled with my gifts from the powerful seas!
Richard made another shell table for Nana Evelyn
As there were plenty of shells left over!
I saw it many times when we visited her
At her nursing home on Cross Road at Myrtlebank!
