Walking in sunshine

Was walking in sunshine
Was having a great day
Had seen a cute little lizard
Sunning itself; what a day?
It let me take its photograph
It seemed to pose for me; hooray!
Then as I turned around
Another big surprise...
Saw the tail end of a brown snake
Disappearing from my sight; no fright!
I had a feeling I would see one
And I was certainly proved right!
Wow! What an amazing sight!
A four foot long brown snake
Slinking through the bushes
Not willing to pose for me
I am so very happy to confess
It was just as wary of me
As I was of it; no contest!
