When words won't come

Ever felt frustrated
When words won't come?
Ever felt annoyed because
Your tongue won't speak
As you want it to?
I am going through Menopause
The joys of Mentalpause
As I joke about it
I might as well laugh at myself
Life is too short to feel miserable
So I just get on with my happy life
I don't let anything get me down
This is what I have and I am happy with it
But as a youngster I was so shy
Couldn't speak out at all
Too tongue-tied to speak
Too terrified to speak in school
I remember when My boyfriend's sister
Had a car accident
She had brain injuries and 
Struggled to even speak
I tried to have a chat with her
I felt her frustration as she tried to speak
I felt embarrassed for her inability
To get those words out
Those words floating around in her brain
Ready to speak them but
Her tongue; tied up in tangles
Her frustration at the simple task
Of being able to communicate
We must be thankful
For every gift dear God has given us
In our daily lives!
Thank You Lord for creating us
Thank You Lord for loving us
Mere humans that we are!
