Made a tossed green salad
For our group's dinner date
Thought it would look good
Upon our plastic dinner plates
We had some fancy lettuce
Ripe red juicy tomatoes too
Some cool green cucumbers
A nice white mushroom or two
I sought the colours of the rainbow
For our simple, delicious repast
Praying that we'd all get to see
Just how easy it is to beat the past
I added crisp red capsicum
Thought it ought to do the trick
To show them all I loved them
Finally the Spanish onion: whew!
At last: it's ready for the crew!
