Too tired

What happens when you get old?
When everything is "too hard"
When breathing is enough of a chore
When thinking s just "too much"
When eating becomes a bore
Walking any distance tires you out
Who has time to get out and about?
You hands don't work as you'd like
It is your joints that scream and shout
Everything slows down to zero pace
No longer are you the world's hero
Your children become your carers
Have to return the lifelong favour
Be the ones to wipe your face
Clean you; dress you; caress you
Thus life comes full circle; it's true
This will happen to me; to you
None of us can escape this race
From dust we came...
Thanks to God's infinite grace
To dust we return in due course
