Made of silver; mum said
A special piece of hers
Bought many long years ago
She kept it that way
"Use the spoon only
To place the sugar in
But do not immerse it
Keep it clean; put it back in"
The spoon is old and battered
The silver tarnished; dark
Though it doesn't loo much
Its value in her eyes
Makes me value it still...
