The elderly struggle through the summer months
Too hot to handle in any event: their time is spent
At the large shopping centres: enjoying the cool
Let some-one else cover the expense: they cannot
So it is that they congregate at these centres: enjoying
The serenity that is provided: it is not coincidental
It is preferential to sitting at home in the stifling heat
They come together for some peace & quiet
Catching up on their newspapers: their reading
Able to survive the searing summer heat: inside
Returning home at day's end when cooling breezes
Finally do descend: blowing in from the nearby seas
Yes that is how it is: when summer heat sears their homes!
