Life is like a drum

Life is like a drum: beating out our daily rhythm
Everything is beautiful: every breath is giving
Heart beats; blood rushes: skin heats: face flushes
The rhythm of life is constant: it beats: never ending
The breakers upon the beach: cascading onto shore
The seasons of our earth: continuing on forever more
All creatures great and small: following the seasons
Every living thing: God made it all: everything has a reason
He made the brightest summer day: the darkest night too
Every star that shines above: to be our guiding light: it's true!
God thought of all the things: we could never hope to understand
For he knew we would feel so blessed just to be around
He made the cascading waters: sent them rushing to the seas
Just as he made all living things: the birds, the honey bees
The polar bears so white: he made to survive on ice floes
He made the elephants to struggle with heavy loads
The golden lions he made to feed upon the dying things
Many different animals; in every shape and size: to bring
Praises to the Lord above: thanking Him for making all living things
Yes our dear Lord made us all: gave us life in His very image
Just to show us how much He loves: how loving He truly is!
Everything has a purpose beneath our fiery glowing sun
Our dear Lord knew we would appreciate: everything He has done!

Life's drum

From the beginning there were drums,
beating out world rhythm-
the booming, never failing
tide on the beach
the four seasons:
gliding smoothly, one from the other
when the birds come
when they go
The bear hibernating
for his winter sleep
unfathomable the why
yet all in perfect time
Watch the heartbeat in your wrist
-a  precise pulsing beat
of life's drum.
