World Disasters
We can all see that world disasters are happening around us all the time.
Not a day goes by that we do not hear about some disaster, earthquake,
flood, fire or cyclone. Seeing disasters and devastation like this reaffirms
the fact that while we make our way through our day to day modern lives
we need to realize the end of the world is near. The earth is giving us
warnings right under our feet that cannot be ignored. Yes, disasters have
been happening throughout he history of the world but Jesus says that
just before His 2nd coming to the earth, there will be go great an intensity
and frequency in natural disasters that men's hearts will be failing them
for fear of them.
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon,
and in the stars: and upon the earth distress of nations,
with perplexity: the sea and the waves roaring: Men's
hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after
those things which are coming on the earth: for
the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall
they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with
power and great glory." Luke 21: 25-27 King James Version
Knowledge
The Bible predicts that just before the second return of Jesus Christ
this world will experience a burst of knowledge.
Knowledge of every kind, including science, medicine,
transport and technology has increased over the last 100 years
more than in any other time of this world's history.
Everybody can see the increase in knowledge in the last 20 years,
especially with mobile phones, devices and the development
of the internet. People all around the world can be connected
at the click of a button. Long gone are the days of the pigeons.
Through wireless technology, internet communication can be
accessed in seconds around the globe. Media has reshaped
the world in the last twenty years with the coming of the
information age.
The speed at which we travel has been increased tremendously
in the last 60 years, especially with air travel. it is possible to fly
around the world within a few hours. medical research and
knowledge have increased dramatically. Every day there is
some new drug invented or a treatment protocol against disease.
All the dramatic advances in knowledge can be nothing more
than a direct fulfilment of a Bible prophecy found in the book of Daniel,
Which predicts that in the last days "many shall run to and fro and
knowledge shall be increased" Daniel 12:4 King James Version
Are you ready?
According to the book of Matthew, the vast majority of this world
will not expect or believe in the appearing of Jesus Christ in the clouds.
His appearing is described as the coming of a thief in the night.
The greater proportion of people are completely oblivious to the
greatest event ever to rock this planet. It further says in the book of
1 Thessalonians that the majority will cry "peace and safety" in the
middle of these ongoing disasters.
The ushering in of a hopeful millennium of peace will be heralded
from the leaders of the world despite the increase of turmoil and terror.
Fear and tribulation in the wake of these natural disasters striking
the planet will be attributed to global warming or other things
rather than the judgements of God to awaken a sleeping world
of the nearness of Jesus Christ's return. The Bible says,
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down
with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day
come upon you unexpectedly." Luke 21: 34 New King James Version
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted
worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to
stand before the Son of man." Luke 21: 36 King James Version
From these evidences we can see that the end of the world is near.
The fact is that whether we choose to get ready for this great event
or not, whether we like it or not, it will come.
Every eye shall see Him
The Bible predicts that every eye shall see Jesus Christ appearing
in the sky with millions of angels surrounding him.
"Behold, he cometh with clouds: and every eye shall see him..."
Revelation 1:7 King James Version "When the Son of man shall come
in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon
the throne of his glory:" Matthew 25: 31 King James Version
Whether atheist or believer, all will be stopped to behold the glory and
majesty of Jesus Christ in the clouds. Just as there were in the past,
and as there are now, there will be two types of responses when
Jesus comes. there will be those who reject him and scorn His warnings
of reproof and there will be those who have chosen to believe and make
their peace with God. The Bible says each will be rewarded for their
decisions just as a farmer is rewarded with his harvest according
to the type of crop he chooses to plant. The question we have to ask
ourselves is, what will our response be?
We should try and figure out which reward we want to receive, eternal
life receiving a heavenly home with Jesus or eternal death.
All the signs in the world show that it is very near: Jesus said
"Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars... For nation shall rise
against nation...and there shall be famines, and pestilences,
and earthquakes, in divers places." (Matthew 24: 6-7) King James Version
Now is the Time to Believe
Jesus has left us some promises in the Bible that He will come again
and take the faithful home with him to heaven.
In John 14:1-3 Jesus says, "Let not your hart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so,
I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare
a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there ye may be also." King James Version
Jesus has a place that He has prepared for all those that love His appearing.
If we chose to believe in him we shall be granted a place in his everlasting
kingdom. Our destiny lies in the choice we make, its our decision and God
calls us to believe in him before it is too late:
"I call heaven and earth to record this daily against you, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou
and thy seed may live:"
Deuteronomy 30:19 King James Version
All the signs of the world show that it is very near. Jesus said,
"Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars...for nation shall rise
