There are many kinds of love
Many ways to love another
There is the love that comes
From your father and your mother
There is childish love: simple, free
Uncomplicated: blessed to see
Love for your husband
Love for your wife
Love unlike any other in your life
Love for your children
Love for your friends
Love for all of God's creatures
Love for this earth of ours
Love for your brothers and sisters
Whether by blood or by heart
Then there is God's love
Which encompasses all of these
There is the love that Jesus gave
Taking our sins upon his shoulders
So that all the human race could be saved
Love can be shown in many ways
Through kindness and compassion
Through tolerance and through prayer
Through lending a listening ear
Through giving a hug...
Through understanding another's fear
Feeding the poor and hungry
Giving of your precious time
Aiding the homeless, the old and infirm
Yes there are many kinds of love
But God's love I hold most dear
For in making us in His image
He set an example for us all
Giving us His precious gift
His Son...
Showing us the greatest love of all
