Steps to Christ

God loves us sinners
He wants us to survive
Through troubles, tribulations
He would bring us through alive
We only need to turn to Him
We only need to step up close
For in Him we will find
The solution to our pain
He gives His love to us all
He does not want to see us fall
Why do we always turn away?
Ignore his blessed guiding light
His words light our pathway
His love should guide our feet
Yet we poor humans always slip
Just when we are closest to him
We look away for a second
We look back at our former days
Satan wants us to turn away our face
In shame and in disgrace it's true
He would have us fall away always
And never return to Him again
So we must keep our eyes upon Jesus
Must not look or fall away
For only with Him in our hearts
Will we ever make it through
These awful darkest days...
