Harsh critic

Met a famous poet
Met him before
But I didn't know it!
Poor man
Had throat cancer
Now no salivary glands
No moisture in his mouth
Needs medication
North and south
Asked him 
To check out a poem
Said he was
A harsh critic
I hope so
I need to know
Am I any good?
Though it's not
My words I write
I offer up 
The Lord's might
His words I put down
His love
I try to show
My Lord
My dearest one
"Tis your love
Here that shines!
