Times were tough I'm telling you
Sometimes I didn't know what to do
Put our name down on a list
Arranged to get a hamper for Christmas
But this time my dear Lord said to me
" Don't worry: the Lord will provide!"
I was so thrilled to be so very blessed
I was to put the dear Lord to the test
I told Rose of His promise to me and
Was just so very happy!
The very next day Rose came around
Two big boxes in her arms
She'd brought a leg of lamb for roasting
A Christmas pudding, vegetables too
Even a pastry mix for a pie and
Whiting from her own freezer
Caught by her darling hubby
All these she brought for our Christmas feast
Just as the dear Lord had promised
Just as He had said: He provided!
