The Old Mill restaurant at Hahndorf in the hills
Many long years ago we spent some time there
Tim's work had a dinner, where we all dressed up
A photographer took our pictures: we were so young
Tim and I had just begun dating: just started our lives together
How young and fresh our un-lined faces
How full of hope we were: ready to begin our lives together
just looking back to those days in 1976 brings memories
This coming week on the 26th of May would have been
Our 35th wedding anniversary but now it will not be
It all ended just two short months ago: no longer our lives
Together: no longer does the count go on!
Now when I fill out forms I tick another box
The one that says "widow" not wife!
Such a sad end to our long wedded life!
