There was a knock upon my door
It was 11 pm: too late you know
But still I answered that knock
A young girl was standing there
Sad and in despair: a runaway
Desperate to flee her home
The good Samaritan had found her
Gave her the help she sought
But refused to take her further
Refused to set her down in the dark
"I'll take you to somebody's place
Will not leave you beside the road
Tell me where you want to go
Is there somebody that you know?"
So there we were together
Upon a dark November night
I was called upon to help her
Aid another in her plight!
11 pm on the 11th of November
Many years ago!
Met that same young woman
Just yesterday
Happy with her life now
Three beautiful little children
God has blessed her
Don't you know!
Be a good Samaritan
If you get the chance
You never know the good you do
But you will be blessed in advance!

Where ever you may be
Always remember our Saviour
He it is that sets us free!
