The parable of the vineyard

You've heard of Jesus' parables
This is a beautiful one!

The land owner goes to the market place
Every three hours to hire workers for his vineyard
He offers those he hires at 6 am: 1 dollar for a days work
He offers those he hires at 9 am: 1 dollar for a days work
He offers those he hires at 12 noon: 1 dollar for a days work
He offers those he hires at 3 pm: 1 dollar for a days work
He offers those he hires at 5 pm: 1 dollar for a days work
At the end of the day he orders his paymaster to pay his workers
In reverse order: those working the shortest hours to be paid first
Even though they've only worked a little amount
They are still paid the 1 dollar; as agreed
The ones at the end of the line are getting angry
They have worked 12 hours but are still getting only 1 dollar
It doesn't seem fair does it?

The moral of this story is: no matter how long we labour in Jesus' field
The offer of eternal life is still the same
1 per person: no more and no less!
The Lord does not give more to those who have worked longer
He does not give less to those who have worked for a shorter period
No matter when you get into Jesus's field
The offer is the same to all: eternal life up in heaven
With Him who made us all!
