Infanticide

During the early 1920's
Depression years
Should be called
Depression tears
Mother pregnant again
Another mouth to feed
But the look from father
Decrees: this child
He does not want
Does not need
Eldest daughter
Already knows the drill
Assists her mother
Assists knowingly
After all the months
Of this pregnancy
The child will come
But will not breathe
After all the pain
Mother must endure
For pregnancy
There is no cure
Father must have his way
Father must have his say
The end will come again
Way too soon...
