We were walking in sunshine
Taking a stroll in the park
Enjoying fresh air: exercise
But not after it gets near dark
It isn't safe to take a wander
After the sun goes down
For there are those who squander
Their lives: to steal your own
Sadly it is a part of this crazy world
Where people don't respect others
Nor their lives : vulnerable young girls
Never go out alone: you have to gather
Protect yourself and your friends
Remember: there's safety in numbers
Too late to think about it after the fact
